GNOBFA SeminarMouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett attorneys Dan Hoerner, Mike Neuner (GNOBFA Counsel),  and Arthur Chassaignac attended the Greater New Orleans Barge Fleeting Association (GNOBFA) 41st Annual River and Marine Industry Seminar, Wednesday, April 9 – Friday, April 11, 2025. The seminar, which took place at the InterContinental Hotel in New Orleans, featured two and half days of panel discussions with legal experts and representatives from state and federal agencies. Rear Adm. David Barata, commander of the Eighth Coast Guard District, was the keynote speaker.

Day one kicked off with a “lightning round” discussion of recent case law affecting the maritime industry. Artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and other Coast Guard policies impacting the maritime transportation system were among the topics on the second day. Wrapping things up, was an interactive discussion about litigation scenarios related to hurricanes, high water, acts of God, force majeure, spills and cleanups, and vessel casualties..

On Thursday, MBLB hosted a welcome cocktail party at the Peacock Room for conference attendees and clients. It was a great way to connect with professionals in the fleeting and river industry and to keep our fingers on the pulse of the latest and greatest happenings.
