The United States Department of Labor has announced that the newly determined National Average Weekly Wage is $999.55. Effective October 1, 2024 the new minimum compensation rate under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act will be $499.78 and the new maximum compensation rate under both the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and the Defense Base Act will be $1,999.10. This reflects a 3.76% increase in compensation rates, a reprieve from the last three years of 5.0% increases.
