Another Staged Automobile Accident Insurance Fraud Scheme Uncovered in Louisiana

Ouachita Parish has recently become the focus of Louisiana’s latest automobile accident staging insurance fraud investigation. Adrian Sampson, 21, has been charged with 49 felony counts, including 16 counts of insurance fraud, 16 counts of staging motor vehicle collisions, and one count of racketeering. Authorities allege that Sampson participated in a series of staged crashes between May 2024 and September 2025, generating more than $150,000 in fraudulent claims.

The Louisiana Department of Insurance first referred the matter to the Louisiana State Police (LSP) in February 2025 after identifying irregularities in Sampson’s claim. As the LSP expanded its investigation—supported by Anti-Fraud One – Government technology—investigators uncovered Sampson’s alleged involvement in planning, coordinating, and executing additional staged accidents.

A warrant was issued on September 30, 2025, and Sampson was taken into custody on October 24, 2025. At this time, no additional participants have been identified.

The investigation remains active and, based on current information, does not appear to be connected to the broader accident-staging enterprise operating out of New Orleans, which has led to multiple federal indictments in the Eastern District of Louisiana.
