MBLB Attorneys Provide Pro Bono Legal Services for Civil District Court Self-Help Resource Center

Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett has adopted the Civil District Court Self-Help Resource Center for the month of July to provide pro bono legal services. The Self-Help Resource Center is a volunteer-driven service, offering court-approved forms and legal information to self-represented litigants in domestic (family law) matters such a divorce, custody, child-support, visitation, etc.

Three MBLB attorneys will staff the Self-Help Resource Center each Wednesday in July from 9am to 12pm. Alex Domingue, Noah Borer, Katie Briuglio, Arthur Chassaignac, Katie Fox, Tyffani Lauve, Scott Le, and Tyler Loga are among the attorneys who will be taking shifts.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court hosts the Self-Help Resource Center, which is an operation of The Pro Bono Project and The Family Justice Center in partnership with the court and the clerk’s offices, and with funding from the Louisiana Bar Foundation. The LBF is the single largest grantor of funds in the State of Louisiana to support civil legal aid. The foundation supports the work of the two legal services corporations, as well as dozens of other organizations that advocate for children, victims of domestic violence, the elderly and disabled. Alex, Katie Briuglio, and Katie Fox are LBF Fellows.

About the CDC Self-Help Resource Center

The Center is not able to provide legal advice or representation, but can provide referral resources for those seeking legal advice or representation. Volunteers will also notarize the court-approved forms available at the center. In addition to the Self-Help Resource Center staff from the Pro-Bono Project, the Family Justice Center provides assistance to individuals who may need information regarding domestic abuse and domestic violence.
