MBLB Adopts Walk MS as a Philanthropic Charity; Sponsors Walk MS: New Orleans

Jakob Jackson MS storyMouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett is proud to officially adopt Walk MS as one of the firm’s philanthropic charities. MBLB will be a Bronze Sponsor of Walk MS: New Orleans 2026 in honor of our colleague and friend, Associate Attorney Jakob Jackson, who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in June of 2025.

MS is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information between the brain and body. Jakob is an inspiration to us all with the way he has bravely faced this disease and how he is choosing to respond to things he cannot control in life.

Support Walk MS: new orleans 2026

This is the first year that MBLB is sponsoring Walk MS: New Orleans which will be held on April 11, 2026, at Lafreniere Park in Metairie, Louisiana.

Last week was MS Awareness Week. Jakob, along with the MS Regional Director, held an info session where Jakob shared his journey with MS, introduced MBLB’s first annual sponsorship of Walk MS: New Orleans, and helped share how to join the MBLB Walk MS team.

With Jakob as our team captain, we’ve set our fundraising goal as $3,000. We walk to support Jakob and others facing MS to help raise awareness, improve treatment, and ultimately, to create a world free of MS.

About Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information between the brain and body — there is currently no cure for MS. Symptoms vary for each person and range from numbness and tingling to mobility challenges, blindness and paralysis. An estimated 1 million people live with MS in the United States, and the disease occurs in most ethnic groups. While most people are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, children can also be diagnosed with MS, and the disease affects women two to three times more than men.
