Associate J. Edward McAuliffe, III, has been selected as a nominee for the Ninth Annual Frank L. Maraist Award. The Young Lawyers Committee of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel established the Frank L. Maraist Award in 2015 in honor of Professor Maraist, the first executive director of the LADC. The award recognizes a young lawyer who has outstanding achievements in his/her practice and has made significant contributions to the legal profession, the defense bar and his/her community.
Edward will be recognized at the Young Lawyers Awards and LADC Board Dinner on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. at Arnaud’s, when the award recipient will be announced.
Edward McAuliffe received a 2023 Pro Bono Publico Award from the Louisiana State Bar Association for the pro bono work he undertook in 2022, representing a victim, the mother of a deceased pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run, and obtaining restitution for her through the criminal process. The award honors attorneys who have gone above and beyond their professional duties to ensure access to legal services for low-income Louisianans.
