The annual event is the primary fundraiser for the organization, which helps low-income families, individuals, and the elderly in need gain access to lawyers who can help them resolve civil legal issues.
Alex accepted an invitation to join The Pro Bono Project as a Member of the Board of Directors and began serving a two-year term on January 1, 2025. Last year, he served as the Chair of the Silent Auction subcommittee, building on his accomplishments as Co-Chair in 2024.
Alex has shown a fierce dedication to serving the community by providing pro bono civil legal services. For his work on behalf of the Justice for All Ball, as well as taking on direct referral cases and volunteering at the Civil District Court Self-Help Resource Center, Alex was selected as a recipient of The Pro Bono Project’s Distinguished Service Award in 2025.
As Executive Director C.C. Kahr said about Alex’s contributions, “Your dedication of countless hours—whether raising vital funds through the Justice For All Ball, assisting clients at the Self-Help Resource Center, or devoting your time to casework—has been instrumental in advancing access to justice in our community.”
MBLB has been a sponsor of the Justice for All Ball for several years, and our attorneys have volunteered alongside Alex to help with the event. In 2026, we look forward to continuing to work with a diverse group of legal and non-legal professionals committed to The Pro Bono Project’s mission.
About The Pro Bono Project
The Pro Bono Project exists to ensure that all underserved citizens of six local Louisiana parishes can find lawyers willing to donate time and civil legal experience to help them resolve civil legal problems. For every ticket purchased, sponsorship pledged, and silent auction bid on, the proceeds of the organization’s Justice for All Ball fund its mission to provide free civil legal aid to help under-served families, seniors, and children in need.
