Alan Brackett Appointed to Supreme Court of Louisiana Historical Society Board

Alan G. BrackettMouledoux, Bland, Legrand and Brackett is pleased to announce that Managing Member Alan G. Brackett has been appointed en banc by the justices of the Louisiana Supreme Court to the Supreme Court of Louisiana Historical Society Board.

The Supreme Court of Louisiana Historical Society is dedicated to the collection and preservation of the history of the Supreme Court of Louisiana and its decisions to increase public awareness of the Court’s contributions to Louisiana’s rich legal heritage. The Society seeks to accomplish its mission by encouraging historical research; supporting lectures; and collecting historical documents, portraits and artifacts for display to the public in the Chief Justice Bernette Joshua Johnson Supreme Court Museum.

In July 2023, Alan was appointed to serve as a co-chair on the Supreme Court of Louisiana Historical Society’s Steering Committee to Commemorate the Bicentennial of the 1825 Civil Code. This important milestone presented a special opportunity to celebrate Louisiana’s legal heritage and its unique place in the civilian world. The Historical Society presented a series of events to mark this occasion in 2025 and spoke on Friday, September 12, 2025 at the annual meeting of the Supreme Court of Louisiana Historical Society at the Louisiana Supreme Court to complete the year-long commemoration.
