Managing Member Alan G. Brackett and Member Daniel P. Sullivan recently participated in events held by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD). LCLD is made up of more than 400 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners, working to build a more open and diverse legal profession. Membership is limited only to general counsel and law firm leaders. A requirement of membership is to make a pledge to advance the diversity of the profession.
Alan, who is a member of the organization, attended LCLD’s 13th Annual Membership Meeting held September 22-23 in Washington, D.C. The meeting was an opportunity to learn from other leaders how to better advance the strategies for diversity, equity and inclusion in our companies.
Dan attended the LCLD Fellows Fall Meeting held September 22-24. Seminar topics ranged from emotionally intelligent management to the story of an exonerated death row inmate.
Dan returned inspired. “It was great to meet with other lawyers at intermediate stages in their career who are invested in diversity, equity, and inclusion. Until now, most of the Fellows Program has been remote, and seeing people I’ve developed online relationships with in person was exciting. It was invaluable to network with lawyers with diverse backgrounds and career experiences and learn about their firms’ successes and failures in implementing DE&I programs to benefit MBLB. The Fellows Program remains relevant and worthwhile.”
