On October 27, 2018, attorneys from Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett volunteered for Habitat for Humanity’s 2018 Bench & Bar Build. Sponsored by the New Orleans Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section, the event was hosted in conjunction with NOBA’s annual Habitat For Humanity project.
Prior to Hurricane Katrina, local lawyers, judges, and other legal professionals teamed up for the event as a way to give back to the community by building homes for hard-working families. Saturday’s event was a renewal of that tradition.
The event welcomed professionals from firms large and small, sole practitioners, judges, legal services providers, and businesses that collaborate with people in the legal field. The day lasted from 8 AM to 4 PM. MBLB attorney and YLS board member, Eric Winder Sella, led participation and dodged falling hammers throughout the day. Volunteer work included construction, registration assistance, and general assistance for the construction process. Participants worked side by side with hard working family members who will be purchasing the home upon its completion.
