Samantha J. Lopez, Associate
Associate Samantha Lopez’s practice includes the defense of employers and insurance carriers for claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, Defense Base Act, and War Hazards Compensation Act.
Samantha began her career at the Louisiana Center for Children’s Rights as a defense attorney representing youth in Orleans Parish where she advocated for their rights through the juvenile justice system. Prior to joining Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett, she practiced civil litigation at a New Orleans defense firm, where she refined her skills in litigation strategy, high-volume case management, and client service.
“My diverse professional background has shaped my approach to litigation, making me a particularly tenacious and zealous advocate for my clients.”
While attending Southern University Law Center, Samantha mentored high school students in the Baton Rouge area as a teaching fellow with the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Program. The project teaches high school students in underserved communities about their constitutional and civic rights through an introduction to Supreme Court cases and emphasizes moot court techniques, oral advocacy, legal research and writing, critical thinking, and public speaking skills.
Samantha is a New Orleans native. She enjoys spending time with her wife and teenage daughter. She also loves to garden and volunteer with youth in the New Orleans area. She lives her life guided by one of her favorite quotes from Angela Davis: “I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change. I am changing the things I cannot accept.”
