Meagan K. Downes, Associate
Meagan Downes’ practice focuses on the defense of employers and insurance carriers for claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, Defense Base Act, and War Hazards Compensation Act.
Prior to joining Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett, Meagan gained experience in her area of practice, defending Longshore Act and Defense Base Act claims. She has also practiced in the areas of property and casualty insurance defense and state workers’ compensation.
With a strong educational foundation in business, Meagan brings a strategic, results-driven approach to her work. Thorough preparation is the cornerstone of her legal practice, enabling her to anticipate challenges and advocate effectively on behalf of her clients.
Meagan was highly involved in student organizations while attending Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She was a member of the Women’s Law Society and Federal Bar Association as well as a student practitioner in the Business Law Clinic, where she was able to work directly with clients in aiding their not-for-profit organizations.
Meagan lives in Chicago. In her free time, she enjoys going to concerts, traveling to Minneapolis and Boca Raton to visit family, cheering on the Irish, and spending time with her dog, Jameson.
