Mariela Cruz, Associate
Associate Mariela Cruz’s practice focuses on the defense of employers and insurance carriers for claims arising under the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Act.
Prior to joining Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett, Mariela practiced in plaintiff-focused areas, developing a passion for zealous advocacy for each client. She now leverages this experience as she advocates for her defense clients.
Mariela is known for her warm and positive attitude as well as her dedication to each and every case. “Meeting an attorney often produces anxiety for clients. I create an environment where each client feels welcome, but also confident in my ability to assist in the case. I understand the trust that is placed upon me and I work hard to achieve the best results.”
While attending Loyola University College of Law in New Orleans, Mariela participated in student-led oral advocacy groups focused on providing assistance to low-income individuals. She received an honorary thesis for her research regarding political elections and the new media at Birmingham-Southern College, where she majored in Political Science and Government.
In her spare time, Mariela enjoys volunteering in her community, traveling, outdoor activities, and spending time with friends and family.
