Lejla Alibasic, Associate

Lejla Alibasic’s practice focuses on the defense of employers and insurance carriers for claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, Defense Base Act, and War Hazards Compensation Act.

A native of Bosnia, Lejla came to the United States as a refugee, witnessing firsthand the legal system’s inherent nuances and adopting a desire to help others navigate those complexities. Her clients appreciate the unique perspective she brings to cases, and she is always available to those she represents.

Prior to joining Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett, Lejla was highly involved in student activities at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She gained legal experience, working as a Student Practitioner for both the law school’s Community Law Clinic and Health Justice Project Clinic. She served as a senior editor for the Loyola University Chicago International Law Review and a brief writer for the American Bar Association Moot Court Competition. She was also the Vice President of the International Law Society and Treasurer of the Immigrants’ Rights Coalition.

Lejla lives in Chicago. In her free time, she enjoys trying new restaurants around the city, reading, and traveling.
