James M. Montgomery, II, Associate

James Montgomery’s practice focuses on transportation, trucking, and insurance defense. Prior to joining Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett, James zealously represented clients in motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and §1983 claims in New Orleans. This experience gave him particular insight into the Louisiana court system, claimants soft-tissue injuries and corresponding treatment, communications with physicians, witnesses, and appellate court motion practice.

James’ broad experience has equipped him with the necessary skills to fight for his clients from the inception of the case to the end of the litigation process. “I take pride in my work and won’t settle for ‘good enough.’ Each case is unique and requires undivided attention to maintain strong relationships with clients.”

James attended Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. While attending law school, James worked as a Rule XX student practitioner at Loyola’s Prosecution Clinic, practicing in the 24th Judicial District Court in Gretna, Louisiana, where he assisted district attorneys with various criminal matters. In addition, he was a judicial extern for the Honorable Judge Michael J. Juneau with the United States District Court, Western District of Louisiana. He was also an associate of the Loyola Maritime Law Journal and staff member of the Trial Advocacy team.

James is a native of Lafayette, Louisiana, and graduated from St. Thomas More Catholic High School and Louisiana State University before going to law school. In his free time, he enjoys golf, fishing, cooking, and watching the Saints & LSU Tigers.
