Jakob R. Jackson, Associate
Jakob Jackson’s practice focuses on the defense of employers and insurance carriers for claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, Defense Base Act, and War Hazards Compensation Act.
Prior to joining Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett, Jakob was highly involved in student activities at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. He served as the Ad Hoc Officer for the Loyola Maritime Law Journal and was a 3L Class Representative of the Student Bar Association. He was also a student practitioner for the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic Criminal Defense section, where he gained valuable experience litigating felony criminal cases, doing legal research and writing, and fine-tuning his interpersonal skills.
Jakob leverages this experience to tirelessly advocate for his clients throughout the litigation process. “The skills I developed during law school, as well as my experience as a child of an Air Force Officer, have instilled a strong sense of global community in me. I love learning, and I have an ability to analyze situations from multiple points of view. I believe these traits are necessary for an effective and zealous advocate, as every situation requires an independent and personal approach.”
Jakob is a native of Nacogdoches, Texas, but has lived across the United States, including Alaska, as the life of a military family requires constant adaptation and a willingness to leave the comfort of what is familiar. In his free time, Jakob enjoys hosting trivia, playing guitar, and traveling.
