Hieu T. Le, Associate
Hieu “Scott” Le’s areas of practice include the defense of employers and insurance carriers for claims arising under the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Act, Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, Defense Base Act, and War Hazards Compensation Act.
Before joining Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett, Hieu primarily practiced in the Louisiana state courts. During this time, he handled matters ranging from personal injury claims to contract disputes and municipal-level criminal defense. He also gained experience in New Jersey and New York, where his practice included civil rights advocacy, foreclosure defense, consumer fraud litigation, labor disputes, and health care-related benefits hearings.
Hieu’s extensive experience has equipped him with the necessary skills to zealously advocate for his clients throughout the entire litigation process. “I firmly believe that each case must be handled with meticulous attention and care regarding legal analysis while also maintaining effective and empathetic communication with my clients.”
Hieu attended Rutgers Law School in Newark, New Jersey, where he was honored with the Kinoy-Stavis Public Interest Fellowship by the Eric R. Neisser Public Interest Program. He was also invited to join the Rutgers Law School Constitutional Rights Clinic, where he worked on cases involving the violation of constitutional rights and civil liberties. Additionally, he served as the Managing Development Editor at the Rutgers Computer & Technology Law Journal and worked as a research assistant to Professor Suzanne Kim.
Being a native of New Orleans, Hieu takes great pleasure in everything the city has to offer, particularly its brass music and cuisine. He strongly believes in actively participating in his community and serves as an E-board member of the New Orleans Pride Center. In his leisure time, he enjoys reading literary fiction, watching films, attending the theatre, honing his creative writing skills, listening to music from his diverse playlists, and spending quality time with his friends and family, including his mother and eight younger siblings.
