Dona J. Dew, Of Counsel
Dona Dew’s practice focuses on employment law. Over the course of 42 years of practicing law, Dona has gained extensive litigation experience both as a trial attorney and as an appellate advocate. In 1982, Dona began her practice with and later became a partner in a defense law firm in New Orleans, where her practice centered around labor and employment law, oil and gas property litigation, and worker’s compensation litigation.
In 1996, Dona joined her husband to form the firm of Nalley and Dew, APLC, where her practice continued to primarily involve the litigation of labor and employment issues as well as casualty litigation and some maritime and property disputes. She also handled a large portion of the firm’s appellate briefing.
Prior to entering Law School Dona gained “life experience” as the co-director of a crises intervention center in Florida, in retailing as the owner of a small business in Florida and as a buyer for a major department store in New Orleans. More recently she has volunteered with the Jefferson Parish CASA organization as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children in foster care.
Dona lives in New Orleans where she is Grandma Ducky to four grandchildren but travels as frequently as she can to Oahu, where she has two additional granddaughters. She spends much of her free time in Mississippi with her husband, horses, ducks, geese, chickens and bees.
