Carter Sayers, Associate
Carter Sayers is an admiralty, general casualty, and insurance defense attorney who represents vessel owners, employers, contractors, and insurers in claims arising from offshore and inland operations, as well as matters onshore.
With a strong understanding of the marine industry and the legal frameworks governing it, he helps clients navigate uncertainty and pursue durable outcomes in cases involving personal injury, property damage, contractual defense and indemnity, and related liability and coverage issues. “I bring a calm, honest, and methodical approach to disputes that can quickly become technical and layered. I focus on getting the story right, applying the law cleanly, producing crisp writing, and giving clients straightforward guidance.”
While attending Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Carter participated in the LSU Immigration Law Clinic, where he helped secure asylum for a Turkish family. He and his clinic colleagues worked tirelessly to promote and preserve the human rights of the world’s most vulnerable and persecuted. In 2018, they were recognized with the Human Rights Award from the Atlas Foundation.
Outside the office, Carter enjoys spending time with his sons, cheering for the Auburn Tigers, and catching fish. His faith is central to his life. He enjoys time with his family, cooking barbecue, and gathering friends and loved ones around a table. In his spare time, he writes on theology and apologetics in both fiction and nonfiction.
