Brenda A. Alvarez, Associate
Brenda Alvarez’s practice focuses on the defense of employers and insurance carriers for claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, Defense Base Act, and War Hazards Compensation Act. Brenda has previous experience in privacy law, gaming law, and regulatory compliance.
Brenda is a detail-oriented attorney who prides herself on her sense of humor and ability to ease a tense room. “The litigation process can be stressful, so while advocating fiercely on behalf of my clients, I strive to make everyone feel as comfortable as possible.”
As a first-generation Chicago native, Brenda has seen how difficult navigating the legal system can be. During her first semester at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, she made a commitment to support people from various backgrounds as a Legal Volunteer with Instituto del Progreso Latino, which she continues to do today. Her responsibilities include conducting intakes and legal screenings for visa card holders who are applying for U.S. citizenship.
Brenda lives in Chicago with her dog, Cleo, and cat, Jadey. She enjoys cooking new vegetarian dishes and starting DIY projects.
