He is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Dan is a member of the Louisiana State and American Bar Associations, the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, and the Propeller Club, Port of New Orleans, where he previously served on the Board of Governors.
